Today, they visited a church in Irapuato, about 1 1/2 hours from Acambaro. Yesterday, the pastor in Acambaro warned Armando that he would be scrutinized by the people in this church--they have been disappointed before by someone from the U.S. who had come, but nothing ever came of the help offered and no follow up. It is a church without a pastor, but is led by several leaders who take turns giving messages.
From Armando's report, he said today went really well and the church is very excited about pursuing the relationship and connection with the U.S.
During the service, when the offering plate was being passed, Armando put some money in it. However, before they left to return to Acambaro, the leaders gave him an envelope (but he didn't open it until they were back in the house they're staying in). Well, when he opened it, they had given him money that was more than what he had given in the offering plate! Wow! Why would they give him money?? Sometime this week, Armando is planning to provide a meal to those who will be coming to hear the leadership development messages he brought and a few classes he will be conducting. A few months ago, he thought there would only be about 10 people coming, but people from 4 churches are now interested in coming so the extra money might come in handy in feeding the attendees! We shall see...check back for the next report!

Sounds like an exiting trip so far. It is awesome to see God's hand work out the details as you minister to these people. I will continue to pray for you guys daily. Try to stop speeding.:)
Thanks for the updates, Sharone. It comes as no surprise that Armando gained favor with the congregation despite their apprehension. We're stilly praying...
